The North East and North Cumbria is proud to have a strong public involvement in clinical research.
Here’s what our regional leaders in clinical research have to say about the success of having the general public involved in research.
Professor Steve Robson is the CEO of the NIHR CRN: NE&NC. Steve is passionate about PPI and wants people to be involved not only in research as participants, but throughout the Network in advisory and executive roles.
Dr Seamus O’Neil is the CEO of the AHSN NE&NC. Seamus campaigns for PPI to be central to the way research is conducted and implemented in the NHS. Seamus is a driver of innovation in our region and understands that involving people in decision making is key to creating both health and wealth for the North East and North Cumbria.
Professor Julia Newton is one of the North East and North Cumbria’s leading academics. Julia is a true advocate for PPI, continuously demonstrating her commitment to working in partnership with patient groups with her impressive portfolio of PPI driven research studies.
