Get Involved

Start Here

Step 1: What is Making Research Better?

Making Research Better is a website that was started when patients involved in clinical research asked for a space online to share their stories and promote awareness about research. They wanted to bridge the gap between patents and the public and the research community to make research more accessible in the North East and North Cumbria.

Our key message is: Getting involved in clinical trials makes a difference

It’s thanks to people including patients, carers and the general public, getting involved with clinical research trials that we are able to continuously improve the health and well being of people across our region.

Step 2: Learn more about clinical research

There is a lot of information on our website, but there are a few key areas that you might be interested in.

FAQ page: Wondering what a clinical trial is or how trials are run? Check out our FAQ page to learn more about the general information about clinical trials.

Clinical Research: For more specific information on our areas of research and trials in our region, visit the clinical research page.

Real Life Stories: Clinical research has already made a difference in the lives of many people in our region. View our real life stories to find out the benefits of being involved in clinical research.

Step 3: Join our community

Every month we send out an email newsletter, which contains opportunities to get involved in clinical research as well as news about developments in clinical research across the North East and North Cumbria. We’ll never share your details with a third party and they will be held securely on our site.

Step 4: Spread the word about clinical research

The good news is anyone can be involved in clinical research! It doesn’t matter if you have a medical condition or not – many trials need healthy volunteers. We are always looking for people to get involved and raise awareness about clinical research. If you know of anyone that would be interested in clinical research, we would appreciate if you could tell them about our website.
